Certification – Level 1 Skills

A dynamic two day course for the beginner or intermediate paddler!

This two-day course covers a significant amount of knowledge and skills to improve the navigation and paddling skills of both beginner and intermediate paddlers. No experience is necessary, however a knowledge of maps, and use of  compasses will be helpful.

Paddle Canada also has a basic kayak certification course to help paddlers who are just learning how to kayak. 1000 Islands Kayaking does not offer the basic level certification. But please feel free to take our Level 1 option and should you not be able to fulfill the Level 1 curriculum by the end of the course, a Basic level certification could be awarded by your Instructor depending on your skill level.
